A Missionary Family Who Dedicated Their Lives to God’s Kingdom
A missionary family who devoted over 30 years in Russia for the kingdom of God visited Greenland. Just hearing that someone has faithfully done one thing for more than 30 years already conveys their sincerity, dedication, and perseverance. But seeing someone who devoted their entire life to God’s kingdom as a missionary and completed that journey stirred many thoughts within me. I made a fresh resolution: I, too, want to run this race well to the very end!
A Family Who Honors God’s Workers
There was also a family who deeply honored these lifelong servants of God. During lunch after Sunday worship, I introduced the visiting missionary, mentioning that he had served in Russia for over 30 years and had now retired. Immediately, one of the families said, “If you don’t have any plans this evening, we would love to treat you to dinner!”
Not only was the missionary, who had served faithfully for over 30 years, deeply respected, but the family’s heart to honor such a servant of God moved me just as much. The world may grow increasingly complex with all its conflicts and troubles, yet seeing people who still cherish the work of God and the workers of His kingdom gives me hope. It makes me feel—this world is still worth living in!
하나님나라를 위해 일생을 드리신 선교사님가정
러시아에서 30여년간 선교사로 일평생 하나님나라를 위하여 삶을 드리신 선교사님 가정이 그린랜드에 방문해주셨다. 그냥 어떤 일이던 30년이상 한 가지 일을 했다는 것만으로도 그 신실함과 충성심과 성실하심이 느껴지는데, 더군다나 하나님나라를 위한 선교사로 일평생을 드려 완주하신 분을 봬니 정말 많은 생각을 하게 되었다. 나도 끄~읕까지 자~알 달려야겠다고 다짐했다!!!
하나님나라의 일꾼을 존귀히 여기는 가정
이렇게 한평생 일생을 하나님께 드린 선교사님가정을 존귀히 여기는 가정도 있었다. 주일예배 후 점심식사 중 함께 식사하던 중에 러시아에서 30년 넘게 선교사로 섬기시다가 은퇴하신 분이라고 소개를 했는데, 바로 “혹시, 오늘 저녁에 특별한 약속이 없으시면 식사를 대접하고 싶습니다!” 라고 말씀하신다. 30년넘게 섬기신 선교사님도 귀하다고 여겼지만, 그 선교사님의 헌신을 존귀히 여기며 섬기시는 분들의 마음도 참으로 귀하다는 생각을 했다. 세상은 여러가지 사건과 사고로 복잡해져가지만 그래도 하나님나라의 일과 일꾼들을 존귀히 여기는 분들이 계셔서 참으로 살만함을 느낀다!~
