Thanksgiving Celebration

This is the Thanksgiving Sunday!

Today, on Thanksgiving Sunday, the scattered Greenland family gathered together to worship and share an original Thanksgiving feast. It was a scene straight out of the hymn “Come and Dine,” with everyone coming together around one table to eat and drink. Children who had been studying came home, and those who had their own children joined as well. We all worshiped together, giving thanks to God for His faithful guidance throughout the year, and then enjoyed a traditional American Thanksgiving meal. It was a beautiful time of fellowship, with families coming together to worship, eat, and share in each other’s company. I thought to myself, “This is what American Thanksgiving is about!” as I felt so grateful during this 2024 Thanksgiving.

이게 바로 추수감사절이구나!

오늘은 추수감사주일로 흩어져있던 그린랜드가족들이 다함께 모여 예배드리고 오리지널 추수감사주일 만찬을 나눴다. “한 상에 둘러서 먹고마셔”라는 찬송가 가사가 절로 떠오르는 추수감사주일의 풍경이었다. 공부하던 자녀들이 오기도하고, 자녀를 낳고 지내던 자녀들도 함께 와서 한 해동안 신실하게 인도해주신 하나님께 다함께 예배를 드리고 미국 전통적인 추수감사주일 만찬을 나눴다. 온 가족들이 다함께 모여 함께 예배하고 함께 식사하며 교제하는 아주 아름다운 시간이었다. 미국명절은 이런거구나! 라는 생각을 하며 뿌뜻하게 지냈던 2024년 추수감사절이었다!
