The First <AWANA Game Day>

At last, we finally had the long-awaited AWANA Game Day!!!

The children ran and played joyfully throughout the church, gathered in classrooms to study God’s Word, and then came together at the end to listen to the day’s message.

And of course — nothing ends better than a good pizza party! Parents chatted together, teachers shared laughter, and the children enjoyed their own joyful conversations. Watching them all interact so freely and happily was an indescribable blessing.

In those moments, it felt like we were witnessing a small glimpse of God’s dream - the vision of His kingdom being built through the next generation.

Though small now, each child is like a precious piece of that divine puzzle, growing step by step within the warm embrace of God’s love and grace.

We are deeply thankful to the AWANA teachers and families from Calvary Church who served with such love, and to all the Greenland families and friends who helped nurture God’s children.

May the love, grace, and mercy of God overflow abundantly in your homes and hearts always.

드디어, 그리워하며 꿈꾸던 <어와나 게임 데이> 를 가졌습니다.

아이들이 교회에서 마음껏 뛰어놀고, 교실에서 말씀공부도 하며, 마지막에는 모두 함께 모여 오늘의 메시지를 들으며 하루를 마무리했습니다.

그리고 끝나고 나서는 역시 뭐니 뭐니 해도 <피자파뤼~>!

부모님들은 부모님대로, 선생님들은 선생님대로, 아이들은 아이들대로 자유롭게 이야기하고 웃는 모습이 참 따뜻하고 아름다웠습니다. 그 모습을 바라보는 것만으로도 형언하기 어려운 행복이 마음 가득했습니다.

그 순간, 하나님 나라의 다음 세대들이 세워지기를 꿈꾸는 비전의 한 조각을 보는 듯했습니다. 아직은 작고 연약하지만, 한 조각 한 조각 맞춰가며 어린이 한 사람 한 사람이 하나님의 품 안에서 하나님의 온기와 사랑을 느끼며 자라가기를 소망하고 기도합니다.

이번 <어와나 게임 데이>를 위해 사랑으로 섬겨주신 갈보리교회 어와나 선생님들과 자녀들, 그리고 그린랜드에서 하나님 나라의 다음 세대를 세워가는 모든 가족들과 이웃들께 진심으로 감사드립니다. 하나님의 사랑과 은혜와 자비가 여러분의 가정과 삶 가운데 늘 흘러넘치기를 기도합니다.

'그린랜더스와의 15개월 동행이야기'

우리는 여전히 연약하여 공사중임을 인정하고 겸손하여 낮아질 때에 역사하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 우리에게 주신 마음때문에 걸어온 지난 15개월 모든 순간이 하나님의 은혜였음을 고백합니다. 앞으로도 그린랜더스들을 통하여 하나님께로 가까이 오는 사람들을 기대하며 계속 걸어갑니다. 앞으로 걸어갈 길에도 하나님이 기뻐하시고 영광받으실만한 일들이 풍성해지기를 기도합니다. 하나님, 감사합니다! 모든 영광을 하나님께 올립니다~

“15 Months of Walking Together with the Greenlanders”

We praise God who works when we acknowledge that we are still weak and under construction, and when we humble ourselves before Him. We confess that every moment of the past 15 months has been filled with God’s grace because of the heart He has given us. With hope, we continue to walk forward, expecting that through the Greenlanders, more people will come closer to God. We pray that on the journey ahead, God’s joy may be full and His name glorified through abundant works that please Him.

Thank You, Lord! To You be all the glory!

Blessings on Students Back to School

하나님 아버지

우리 그린랜드교회의 다음 세대들이 다시 학교생활을 시작합니다. 하나님의 사람으로 하나님의 사람답게 학교생활하도록 기도합니다. 그저 지식을 축적하는 것으로 만족하지 않고 하나님께서 주시는 지혜로 습득한 지식을 연결하는 은혜를 주옵소서

친구와의 관계, 선생님과의 관계에도 은혜를 주셔서 관계를 통하여 거룩하고도 선한 영향력을 흘려보내는 삶이 되게 하옵소서.

새롭게 시작하는 학생들의 삶에 아름다운 만남을 허락하셔서

그들의 안목과 가치관과 세계관이 깊어지고, 넓어지는 은혜를 부어주옵소서. 저희들은 늘 함께 할 수 없사오나 성령께서 늘 동행하여 주실 줄 믿고 예수님의 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘.

Our Father, God

As the next generation of Greenland Church begins a new school year, we pray that they may live as true children of God, carrying themselves in a way that reflects their identity in Christ.

Grant them not only the pursuit of knowledge, but also the wisdom from above to connect and apply what they learn through the grace You provide.

Bless their relationships with friends and teachers, so that through these good and healthy connections

they may become a source of holy and life-giving influence.

In this new beginning, grant them beautiful encounters and divine opportunities, that their vision, values, and worldview may be broadened and deepened by Your grace.

Though we cannot always be with them, we trust that Your Holy Spirit will walk with them every step of the way. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

이게 얼마만인가? 교회 중고등학생들과 여행을 해본지가 언제였지...잘 기억이 나질 않는다. 나야 목사로서 다음 세대를 향한 마음때문에 아이들과 여행하고 싶다고 치더라도...아이들은 목사님과 여행하는 것이 뭐 그리 좋으랴...ㅎㅎㅎ

부모님들의 기우

사실 생각해보면 아이들이 정말 착하다...어디 가자고 하면 "네~" 인앤아웃 먹을까? "네~" 양념치킨 먹을까? "네~" 원래 이렇게 순종적인(?) 아이들이었던가??? 아니면 엄마들이 목사님말씀을 잘 들어야 한다고 단단히 교육을 시켰기 때문일까...? 아무튼 온 세상이 다 걱정을 한다던 다음 세대 아이들과 이렇게 문제 없이 순조롭게? 즐거운 여행을 하게 될 줄은 상상도 못했다. 어떤 이유에서건 아이들이랑 여행하느라 고생할 것이라는 어머님들의 말씀은 기우였다!

신기할정도로 즐거운 여행

내가 언제 다시 이들과 여행을 할 수 있겠냐...하는 마음으로 휴스턴투어 한 바퀴? 돌았다. 사진찍자면 사진찍고~, 먹자고 하면 먹고~, 놀다가 오라고 하면 오고~ 이렇게 말을 잘 듣다니...이 아이들이 유난히 착하게 분명하다...아니면 아이들이 나에게 맞추고 있는걸까...? 아무튼 신기할정도로 너무 너무 즐겁게 잘 다니는 하루였다~~

연합사역이란 이런거?

이제 내일이면 아이들을 위한 집회가 무려 4일간 진행된다. 사실, 숏츠에 익숙한 아이들에게는 길게 느껴질 수 있는 시간이다. 그러나 70명의 자원봉사자들이 기도하며 준비하고 있고, 자원하여 섬기는 8명의 강사님들이 미국의 다양한 지역에서 그리고 한국에서 날아오신다! 무엇보다 28개 교회들이 연합하여 다음 세대를 위한 집회를 여는 것이다

단 한가지 소원

그저 하나님나라의 다음 세대들에게 예수님을 제대로 소개해서 남아 있는 이 땅위에서의 삶은 예수님과 동행하며 살기를 원하는 <단 한가지 소원>때문에 모인다. 이 소원을 위해 자신의 시간과 물질과 달란트를 헌신하여 섬기는 사람들을 만날 수 있다는 것, 그리고 교제할 수 있다는 것이 나에겐 정말 아주 아주 특별한 여행이다!!! 완전! 기대된다!!! KOSTA TX 2025 화이팅!!!

Finishing one stage of life well is a truly meaningful thing.

It signifies faithfulness to the time entrusted, the role given, and the tasks assigned.

From elementary school to middle school, from middle school to high school, then to university, graduate school, and finally into the real world—each step forward is like our journey of faith.

A Life before God – Coram Deo

As we move from one stage of life to the next, we come to realize something important:

"We are still under construction," and "Learning never ends in our lives."

It is wisdom to recognize that we are still being shaped, that growth and maturity are lifelong pursuits, and that we are living Coram Deo—a life before the face of God.

What We Remember vs. Who We Remember

To graduate from school, we must remember what we learned.

But to grow and mature in our faith, we must remember whom we are living for.

It is wisdom to live each day remembering God, the Lord of our lives.

May we strive to be faithful and holy, not only when others are watching, but even more so when no one sees—because God is always watching over us.

We pray and hope to live such a life.

졸업예배

인생의 한 스테이지를 잘 마무리한다는 것은 참으로 의미있는 일이다. 맡겨진 시간, 맡겨진 역할, 맡겨진 과제들에 대해 성실하다는 의미이기 때문이다. 초등학교에서 중학교로, 중학교에서 고등학교로, 고등학교에서 대학교로, 대학교에서 대학원으로, 대학원졸업으로 삶의 현장으로 한 단계 한 단계 움직이는 여정은 우리의 신앙여정과 같다.

코람데오의 삶

그러나 인생의 한 스테이지 한 스테이지를 이동하면서 깨닫는 것은 "우리는 여전히 공사중이다"라는 사실과 "우리인생에 배움은 끝이 나지 않는다"는 것이다. 우리는 여전히 공사중이고 배움과 성장과 성숙에는 끝이 없는 인생이 하나님앞에서 살아가는 <코람데오인생>임을 깨닫는 것이 지혜이다.

무엇을 기억하는가 VS 누구를 기억하는가

배운 것(What to Remember)을 기억해야 학교를 졸업할 수 있다면 누구를 기억하며 사는가(Who to Remember)를 기억해야 신앙생활의 성장과 성숙이 일어난다는 것도 지혜이다. 늘 우리 인생의 주인이신 하나님을 기억하여 나를 보는 사람이 아무도 없어도 하나님앞에서 신실하고 거룩하게 살아가기를 소망하며 기도한다.

Fresh Expression Practitioners

In New England, there are practitioners who embrace the Fresh Expression of Churches movement. This arises from the reality that traditional churches continue to lose people for various reasons. Why do people leave existing churches? Perhaps it is due to organizational issues, systems, or hierarchical structures. But might it also be because churches neglect the very things they are truly called to do? To listen deeply to God’s heart, to discern the voices and contexts where God has placed us, to genuinely love people, to spend intentional time building meaningful relationships, to share the story of Jesus living within us, to form community authentically—these seemingly simple things often become overlooked, neglected, or lost in repetition. These fundamental values should never fall to the margins. Yet today, churches seem to prioritize other things above these essentials. It makes me wonder if we must urgently reclaim the passion for these foundational practices.

I express heartfelt gratitude to Michael Beck, who has faithfully served New England over the past year, working tirelessly toward restoring the essence of church in New England. And even though there may not be as many as one might hope, I deeply respect and support Rev. We Chang, who perseveres without abandoning the work God has entrusted to His people. My earnest prayer and hope remain: that New England may experience a powerful restoration of genuine Christianity, reclaiming the essence of the church and strengthening the foundational spirit of God’s people.

Greenland Avengers!!!

I express endless gratitude to the Greenland Avengers, who gave up their precious Saturday morning to serve God’s co-workers seeking to restore the essence of the gospel. These are truly people who embody the servant way of Jesus by loving and serving God's servants out of their genuine love for Him. My words alone fall short in capturing the depth of my appreciation for their sacrificial efforts. My sincere prayer and blessing is that, through their lives and acts of service, even more people will come to experience and understand the love of God. Thank you so, so much!

뉴잉글랜드에는 Fresh Expression of Churches을 Practice 하는 사람들이 있다. 기존의 교회가 어떤 이유에서든 사람들을 잃어가고 있기 때문이다. 사람들은 왜 기존 교회들을 떠나갈까? 조직? 시스템? 수직적 구조? 때문일 수도 있을 것이다. 그러나 교회가 정말 해야 할 일들을 소홀하기 때문이지 않을까? 하나님의 마음을 듣고, 나를 보내신 상황의 소리를 듣고, 그들을 사랑하고, 그들과 시간을 보내며 관계를 발전시키며, 내 안에 있는 예수님의 이야기를 나누고, 그들과 공동체를 이루며 이 단순한(?) 일들을 소중히 여기고, 포기하지 않고, 반복하지 않기 때문이지 않을까? 이런 가치들이 우선순위에서 밀려나지 않아야 하는데...지금의 교회들은 이런 것들보다 더 중요한 것들이 많아진 것 같다. 다시 이런 기본적인 것들을 소중히 여기며 이런 기초적인 것들에 대한 열정을 회복시켜야 하지 않을까...라는 생각을 하게 된다.

지난 1년동안 뉴잉글랜드에 교회의 본질을 회복하기 위해 섬겨온 Michael Beck 에게 감사하고, 지지하고 응원하는 사람이 생각보다(?) 적어도 하나님의 사람들이 해야할 일들을 포기하지 않고 걸어가시는 Wehyun Chang 목사님에게 존경의 마음을 표한다. 앞으로도 기독교의 본질, 교회의 본질, 하나님의 사람들의 기초력이 잘 회복하는 뉴잉글랜드가 되기를 소망하며 기도한다.

Amazing Greenland Avengers,

토요일 오전 황금같은 시간에 복음의 본질을 회복하고자 하는 하나님의 동역자들을 섬겨주신 그린랜드 어벤져스들에게 무한 감사한다. 하나님을 사랑하는 마음으로 하나님의 일꾼들을 사랑하며 섬기는 이들이야 말로 예수님의 섬김의 도를 살아내는 사람들이라 믿는다. 나의 제한된 언어로 이들의 수고에 감사할 수 없는 것이 아쉬울 뿐이다. 이들의 삶과 섬김을 통해 더 많은 사람들이 하나님의 사랑을 알아가기를 소망하며 축복하며 기도하지 않을 수 없다. 정말 정말 감사드립니다!!!

A Heartfelt Gathering with Our Next Generation

During the Christmas break, our children, who returned home, gathered together for a time of joy and fellowship. Some called it a Yankee Swap, others a White Elephant, but the rules were the same, and the laughter was universal.

We initially set a $20 gift limit, but to everyone’s surprise, $50 gift cards and luxurious perfumes made their way into the exchange. It was clear that each one wanted to bring joy to others with the best they could offer. Seeing their heartfelt intentions to make others happy truly touched my heart.

As we watched the next generation of Greenland come together in this way, I couldn’t help but pray that they grow to be pure, joyful, and holy in the vast embrace of God’s love. May His abundant blessings guide them as they continue their journey in faith.

Christmas Break을 맞아 집으로 돌아온 우리 자녀들이 함께 모였습니다. 어떤 사람은 Yankee Swap이라고 하고 어떤 사람은 White Elephant라고 하는데, 게임방식은 동일한 것 같습니다. 20불정도의 선물을 사오기로 했지만, 서로에게 더 좋은 선물을 주고 싶었는지 $50 gift card도 나오고, 고급 향수도 등장했습니다. 서로를 기쁘게 해주고 싶은 마음이 느껴져서 가슴이 뭉클했습니다. 그린랜드의 다음세대들이 하나님의 크신 품안에서 순결하고도 행복하 거룩하게 잘 성장하기를 간절히 기도합니다~
