바로 여기가 천국이 아닐까요?

뉴잉글랜드에 있는 한인교회들이 한 곡 씩 준비하여 함께 찬양을 나누는 시간을 가졌다. 마음과 정성과 힘과 열정을 다해 하나님을 찬양하는 모습을 보는 순간, '아...천국가면 이렇게 살겠구나!'라는 생각이 쑥 들어왔다. 찬양을 부르는 시간은 4분에서 5분정도이지만, 그 한 곡을 부르기 위해서 준비한 손길을 들을 생각해보면 최소한 4시간에서 5시간이상 준비되었음을 바로 느낄 수 있었다. 선곡, 드레스코드, 동선, 악기연주 등 한 호흡 한 호흡을 한 성령안에서 한 마음 한 뜻으로 부르는 모습을 보는 것이 나도 이렇게 뿌듯한데 하나님은 얼마나 기뻐하실까? 상상만 해도 기분이 좋다. 더 많은 교회에서 더 다양한 찬양의 모습을 나눈다면 이 땅위의 천국체험 현장이 될 것이다.

선교적 정체성

특별히 선교적 정체성을 잃어가는 교회와 성도들이 많아지는 이 시대에 <선교적 정체성>라는 주제로, 각 선교현장에서 사역하시는 하나님의 선교이야기는 다시 한 번 나의 심장을 자극하여 '모든 사람이 구원을 받기 원하시며 예수 그리스도의 진리를 알기 원하시는 하나님의 꿈'(딤전2:4)을 다시 심비에 새기는 시간이었다.

보이거나 보이지 않거나

보이는 곳에서 보이지 않는 곳에서 이름도 없이 빛도 없이 섬기시며 돌보시는 분들이 계시기에 이런 <천국잔치>를 열 수 있었음을 잊어선 안될 것이다.

또한, 손님을 섬기는 행사를 섬기는 것도 쉬운 일이 아닌데, 늘 천사를 대접하듯이 기쁨으로 섬기는 우리 그린랜더스에게 늘 감사의 마음을 놓칠 수가 없다. 여러분은 진정한 '축복의 통로'이십니다. 하나님께서 마음껏 사용하실 수 있는 '깨끗한 질그릇'임에 틀림이 없습니다. 여러분들을 통하여 하나님의 사랑과 은혜와 자비가 더 많은 사람들에게 흘러갈 것입니다~ 할렐루야~~~

Could this be what heaven looks like?

Korean churches in New England came together, each preparing one song, to share a time of praise. As I watched them sing with all their heart, mind, and strength, a thought came to me — “Ah… this must be what heaven is like!”

Though each performance lasted only four or five minutes, I could immediately sense that behind every song were at least four to five hours of heartfelt preparation — choosing the song, planning the dress code, organizing movements, rehearsing instruments. Seeing everyone sing in one Spirit, with one heart and one mind, filled me with such joy that I couldn’t help but imagine how much more delighted God must be. If more churches continue to join and share their unique forms of worship, these moments will truly become glimpses of heaven on earth.

Missional Identity

In a time when so many churches and believers are losing their _missional identity_, this gathering — themed “Missional Identity” — rekindled my heart. Listening to stories from various mission fields reminded me once again of God’s dream — “who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth”(1 Timothy 2:4). Those words carved themselves deeply into my heart once more.

Visible or Invisible

We must not forget that this _heavenly feast_ was made possible because of those who served — both in visible and unseen ways — quietly and faithfully, without seeking recognition or praise.

Greenlanders

And to our beloved Greenlanders — serving guests with joy and grace is never easy, yet you always do it as if welcoming angels. I cannot help but give thanks for you. You are truly ‘channels of blessing’, ‘clean vessels’ ready for the Master’s use. Through you, God’s love, grace, and mercy will continue to flow into many more lives. Hallelujah!

'그린랜더스와의 15개월 동행이야기'

우리는 여전히 연약하여 공사중임을 인정하고 겸손하여 낮아질 때에 역사하신 하나님을 찬양합니다. 우리에게 주신 마음때문에 걸어온 지난 15개월 모든 순간이 하나님의 은혜였음을 고백합니다. 앞으로도 그린랜더스들을 통하여 하나님께로 가까이 오는 사람들을 기대하며 계속 걸어갑니다. 앞으로 걸어갈 길에도 하나님이 기뻐하시고 영광받으실만한 일들이 풍성해지기를 기도합니다. 하나님, 감사합니다! 모든 영광을 하나님께 올립니다~

“15 Months of Walking Together with the Greenlanders”

We praise God who works when we acknowledge that we are still weak and under construction, and when we humble ourselves before Him. We confess that every moment of the past 15 months has been filled with God’s grace because of the heart He has given us. With hope, we continue to walk forward, expecting that through the Greenlanders, more people will come closer to God. We pray that on the journey ahead, God’s joy may be full and His name glorified through abundant works that please Him.

Thank You, Lord! To You be all the glory!

We are so grateful to Suncha Baker for sharing the joy of serving today. Thanks to her kindness, we were able to enjoy a truly delicious lunch together. Every Friday, our Coram Deo family gathers to nourish both our souls and our bodies, and this time together always fills us with gratitude.

The life of a Christian is about being well-fed—both spiritually and physically—and digesting it well so that we may live in good health. How wonderful it is to have a family with whom we can share meals, laughter, and fellowship!

<The Most Beautiful Fruit of a Christian Life is Serving.>

Sharing a delicious meal is always the fruit of someone’s love and devotion. Suncha's heartfelt confession—"The greatest joy comes from serving and sharing with others."—is truly one of the most beautiful expressions of faith.

<코람데오 가족>

감사하게도 오늘 손순자 권사님께서 섬김의 기쁨을 나누어 주셨습니다. 덕분에 정말 맛있는 점심을 함께할 수 있었습니다. 금요일마다 코람데오 식구들과 함께 영혼의 양식을 나누고, 몸에도 좋은 영양을 채우는 이 시간이 참 감사하게 느껴집니다.

<그리스도인의 삶: 영육 간에 잘 먹고 잘 소화하기>

그리스도인의 삶은 영적으로도, 육적으로도 잘 먹고 잘 소화하여 건강하게 살아가는 것이 아닐까 생각합니다. 이렇게 함께 먹고, 함께 웃고, 함께 나눌 수 있는 가족이 있다는 것이 얼마나 큰 축복인지 새삼 깨닫게 됩니다.

<섬김은 그리스도인의 삶에서 가장 아름다운 꽃입니다>

맛있는 음식을 나누는 기쁨은 언제나 누군가의 사랑과 헌신의 열매임을 다시금 마음에 새깁니다. *"섬기고 나눌 수 있다는 것이 가장 큰 기쁨"*이라는 권사님의 고백이야말로 그리스도인의 삶에서 가장 아름다운 고백이 아닐까요?

It is always a joyful and delightful thing to welcome a new family in God. Among the countless people in the world, finding companions within a community who look to the same God, share the same heart, and walk together in faith is truly a blessing! Though our journey together may have its ups and downs, I pray that we may navigate every wave with steadfast faith in God, experiencing the joy and blessing of sailing through it together.

하나님 안에서 함께하게 되어 정말 기쁩니다!

새로운 하나님의 가족이 생겼다는 것은 언제나 즐겁고 행복한 일입니다. 세상에 수많은 사람들이 있지만, 한 공동체안에서 한 하나님을 바라보고 같은 마음과 같은 믿음을 가지고 동행할 수 있는 동반자가 생겼다는 것은 정말 즐거운 일입니다! 우리가 함께 걸어가는 길에 '업스앤다운스'가 있겠지만, 그 모든 파도의 물결들을 하나님을 향한 신실한 믿음으로 함께 항해하는 기쁨과 즐거움을 누릴 수 있기를 소망하며 기도합니다~ 어떤 시련이 와도 함께 이겨낼 수 있는 그린랜드 공동체에 오신 것을 진심으로 환영합니다!

<Adiós, 2024>

Fearfully and Wonderfully Amazing Women's Group

: those who nurture the Greenland tree, helping it grow deep roots, unfurl leaves, blossom, and bear fruits at Greenland United Methodist Church NH

As we wrapped up 2024, the Greenland Women's Group gathered for an epic year-end celebration! It was a night dedicated to applauding our amazing leadership for all their hard work this year, and we had the pleasure of doing it at the home of our newly elected president, Myung Kim with a memorable dinner and plenty of laughs.

The whole night was filled with non-stop laughter, delicious food, and the kind of joyful energy that made me think, “This must be heaven!” Rediscovering each person’s bright, fun-loving spirit was such a delight—I felt so grateful to be part of a group like this.

By the end of the night, I couldn’t help but whisper a little prayer: “Lord, may the laughter we shared tonight overflow and grow tenfold in the year ahead.” What a gift it was to close out the year in such warm company, making memories that we’ll carry into the next.

<그린랜드여선교회>

: 그린랜드나무가 뿌리를 깊게 내리고, 잎도 열리고, 꽃도 피고, 열매도 맺도록 필요한 영양분들을 공급해주는 하나님의 여인들. 사랑하고 축복합니다~

2024년 한 해를 마무리하며 그린랜드 여선교회가 뜻깊은 송년 모임을 가졌다. 이 자리는 한 해 동안 애써 준 임원들의 수고를 따뜻하게 격려하고, 새롭게 선출된 박명숙 회장의 집에서 특별한 저녁 만찬을 함께 나누며 잊지 못할 교제의 시간을 보낸 자리였다.

모임 내내 맛있는 음식과 함께 웃음소리가 끊이지 않았고, "이런 날만 있다면 여기가 천국이지!"라는 생각이 절로 들 만큼 즐거움으로 가득 찬 시간이었다. 모든 분들이 이렇게 유쾌하고 정이 넘치는 분들이었다니, 서로의 매력을 새삼 발견하며 감동했던 순간이었다.

마지막엔 마음속으로 조용히 기도했다. "주님, 오늘 우리가 함께 나눈 웃음이 앞으로의 길 위에서 두 배, 세 배로 넘쳐나게 해 주세요." 올해의 마지막을 이렇게 따뜻한 웃음과 추억으로 채울 수 있어 더욱 감사한 순간이었다.
