북부 보스톤 교회의 화평 속회로 시작하여 Pease 공군부대 제2채플에서 격주로 약 14개월간 모임을 가졌습니다. Pease 공군부대에서 10명이 참석한 가운데 첫 공식 주일예배를 드렸습니다.First official Sunday worship service with 10 attendees at Pease Air Force Base.

정광훈 목사 가정(김정숙 사모, 아들 승철·승현)과 유정예, 김순옥, 김미숙, 이묘숙, 강순덕, 김남희, 심상숙, 심만춘, 손계선, 김동숙, 정정희 교우 등 창립멤버와 함께 새싹한인연합감리교회가 공식 창립되었습니다.Official founding of Seedling Korean UMC with Pastor Jung's family (wife Kim Jung-Sook and sons Seung-Chul and Seung-Hyun) and founding members including Yoo Jeong-Ye, Kim Soon-Ok, Kim Mi-Sook, Lee Myo-Sook, Kang Soon-Deok, Kim Nam-Hee, Shim Sang-Sook, Shim Man-Chun, Son Gye-Sun, Kim Dong-Sook, and Jung Jung-Hee.

뉴햄프셔 연회 주재감독 George Bashore 감독으로부터 준회원 안수 및 파송을 받은 한상신 목사가 취임하고, 교회명을 뉴버드연합감리교회로 변경했습니다.Rev. Han Sang Shin, ordained and appointed by Bishop George Bashore of the New Hampshire Conference, installed as the second pastor. Church renamed to Newbird UMC.

군비축소로 Pease 공군부대가 폐쇄되면서 7월부터 12월까지 36명의 국제결혼 여성들이 떠나는 아픔을 겪었습니다. 담임목사 내외와 19명의 성도들만 남은 절망적인 상황이었습니다.Military downsizing led to Pease Air Force Base closure. From July to December, 36 international marriage wives departed. Only the pastoral family and 19 members remained in a desperate situation.

어려운 상황에서도 믿음으로 큰 결단을 내려 Portsmouth, NH 555 Ocean Rd에 목사관을 구입했습니다.Despite challenging circumstances, the church made a bold decision of faith and purchased a parsonage at 555 Ocean Rd, Portsmouth, NH.

하나님의 특별하신 섭리로 현재 Greenland, NH 위치에 12.5에이커(약 1만 5천평)의 성전 대지를 구입했습니다. 기적과 같은 일이었습니다.By God's special providence, secured 12.5 acres (approximately 15,000 pyeong) at the current site in Greenland, NH. It was truly a miracle.

과수원 사과밭(현재의 성전대지)에서 눈이 오나 비가 오나 약 5년간 매월 첫날 오전 10시 30분에 모여 간절히 기도한 후 새 성전 기공예배를 드렸습니다.Groundbreaking ceremony for the new sanctuary after about 5 years of monthly prayer vigils on the orchard property. Rain or shine, they gathered on the first of each month at 10:30 AM to pray fervently.

청교도들의 숨결이 살아있는 뉴잉글랜드 6개주에서 최초로 한인들이 땅에서부터 건축한 그린랜드연합감리교회 봉헌예배를 드렸습니다. 100% 백인 타운에서 두 번의 공청회를 통과하여 얻어낸 기적이었습니다.Dedication of Greenland UMC - the first Korean church built from the ground up in all six New England states. In a 100% white town, it took two public hearings to obtain approval. It was truly a miracle achieved by God's providence.
