Monthly Companion Group - "Bethany"

그린랜드에는 한 달에 한 번 가정에서 모이는 Companion Group(CG)이 있다. CG의 원형은 사도행전 2장에서 나타나는 가정에서 모인 초대교회의 모습입니다. 성전에서도 모였지만 가정에서도 모여 "떡을 떼며 기쁨과 순전한 마음으로 음식을 먹고 하나님을 찬미하였던 것"처럼 모이는 모임입니다.
CG는 '또 다른 예배'로서의 Input이 아니라, 주일예배설교, 주중묵상, 독서 등 한 주간동안 먹은 영적인 양식을 잘 소화하여 자신의 삶 속에서 경험한 하나님의 이야기를 꺼내어(output) 나누는 시간이다. 각 자 경험한 하나님의 이야기를 나눌 때에 자신이 경험하지 못한 하나님의 이야기를 통해 인간의 상상을 초월하여 일하시는 하나님을 조금씩 조금씩 간접적으로 알아간다. 또한 자신의 삶속에서만이 아니라 다른 이들의 삶 속에서도 역사하시는 하나님이야기를 들으며 하나님에 대한 믿음을 견고하게 다지고 깊게 하는 시간이기도 하다.
식사를 준비하고 가정을 오픈하는 것이 번거롭고 귀찮은 일 일 수 있지만, 한 영혼이라도 하나님께로 가까이 나아가고, 하나님과의 관계가 깊어지고, 그래서 우리의 믿음이 성장하고 성숙할 수 있다면 충분히 감당할만한 일이라고 여기는 분들의 수고와 헌신과 섬김으로 이루어지고 있다. 수십년간 신앙생활을 했는데에도 신앙이 깊어지지 않은 것을 후회하여 형식적이고 습관적인 신앙생활을 한탄하기 보단 이런 수고로움과 번거로움을 통해 신앙이 깊어지는 삶을 사는 것이 훨씬 유익이라고 공감하시는 분들이 계시기에 이런 Companionship을 지속할 수 있다.
이렇게 하나님나라의 가치를 소중히 여기고, 우리의 영적인 여정을 한 사람이라도 함께 가는 것이 더더욱 중요해져서 더 위대한 사명을 위해 이 번거롭고 수고스러운 일들을 감당하는 아름답고도 신실한 성도들이 많아지기를 소망하며 기도한다!!!
At Greenland, we have a monthly Companion Group (CG) that meets in homes.
The model of our CGs comes from Acts 2, where the early church gathered not only in the temple but also in homes. Just as they “broke bread together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people”, we too gather in that same spirit of fellowship and worship.
CG is not meant to be another worship service or an additional 'input' of spiritual content.
Rather, it is a time for 'output' — a space to digest and share the spiritual nourishment we’ve received throughout the week through Sunday sermons, personal devotion, and reading. Each person shares how they have experienced God in their daily lives, and in doing so, we come to know more of the God who works in ways beyond our imagination.
When we hear others’ stories of how God has been at work in their lives, our own faith is strengthened and deepened. We are reminded that God is not only working in _my_ story but also in the lives of others around me.
Opening one’s home and preparing a meal may seem inconvenient or burdensome at times. Yet those who serve and host do so with a joyful heart, believing that if even one soul draws nearer to God — if someone’s relationship with Him grows deeper and their faith matures — then all the effort is worth it.
Some may look back on years of faith with regret, realizing that their spiritual life has become routine or formal. But those who choose to embrace these small inconveniences discover a deeper and more living faith through fellowship and genuine companionship.
It is through such gatherings — through these sacred spaces of shared life — that the values of God’s Kingdom are nurtured.
May more and more faithful and devoted believers rise up who treasure this journey of companionship, who walk together so that even one more soul might experience the presence of God, and who willingly bear the “beautiful burden” of serving for the greater mission of Christ’s Kingdom.
