The First Korean at UNH (7/9/24)

After the first Sunday service at Greenland United Methodist Church NH, I met a Korean post-grad student working as a researcher at UNH. He reminded me of my lonely and hard time as a foreign student in KY about 14 years ago. So I quickly made a lunch appointment with him to get to know him and fellowship with him to let him know I am available as a meal buddy for him whenever he needs. He has been a Greenland family for six years but I guess he might not have many friends to talk still. I am here for you! JK!

There was a pizza store near the UNH campus, a Thai restaurant, two cafes? One bar? Unlike the "college town" I had imagined, but JK said, "I still have everything I need. Isn't that enough to live?" In his words, I could feel the innocence, gratitude, and satisfaction of this brother for life. In no time, I realized that there should be more to reflect on "myself who thought it was enough to live."
