그린랜드 아이들 in DRGreenland Kids in DR

Aftermath of a Trip to the Dominican Republic?

After returning from the Dominican Republic, I couldn’t shake the thought that caring for the children in Haiti must be incredibly labor-intensive and emotionally draining, with an unimaginable amount of administrative work involved—a ministry that could only be sustained by a calling from God.

A Missionary Ministry That Others Shun?

In an era like today, where even caring for one’s own children is considered difficult—an era in which more and more families are choosing not to have children—this missionary is engaged in a ministry that, from the world’s perspective, seems to be lived completely backwards. On the other hand, from the perspective of God’s kingdom, it is clearly a ministry of immense value.

From “Adoption” to “Partnership”

For a while, this ministry was referred to as “adoption.” However, using the term “adoption” led to misunderstandings that implied “legal responsibility,” so we now use the term “partnership”—meaning “to form a bond” or “to be connected”—to signify that the child remains within their community, and we simply stand by their side. Since $50 a month can support their education, health, and food needs, it was a relatively easy (?) decision to make. That’s because you have to try it to truly understand, and to feel the changes in your emotions and heart toward that one soul.

Our New Family Member – "Victoria"

So when I asked if they could introduce me to “the youngest girl among the children available for sponsorship,” they said there was a child who immediately came to mind and sent me <Victoria>’s photo and information. As soon as my wife saw her, she exclaimed, “She’s so cute!” with a “scream of joy,” and when I posted the photo in our family chat, my daughter sent a message welcoming her with a similar enthusiasm.

The $45 Miracle

We’ve gained another child in our family. Though we don’t eat, sleep, or live together as a physical family, we’ve gained a third child whom we hold in our hearts, pray for, and care for—even though she lives in a different country and under different circumstances. Although we don’t see each other often, if a small donation can help them eat, sleep, go to school, and dream of a bright future, I’ve taken a step that transcends the limits of my own life.

Unexpected Feelings

It’s a simple matter of sending $45 a month, but I never expected the unexpected thoughts and feelings that have come to my heart. I’m not entirely sure yet, but it’s definitely a new feeling I’ve never experienced before in my life. To put it into words, I even feel a bit of overzealousness, wanting to call it “the $45 miracle” haha.

I support the "Child Sponsorship Ministry"

Missionary, I support your precious Child Sponsorship Ministry and am now taking my first tentative step. It’s a very small step, but I’m grateful today to be able to join in this precious journey. It’s not an easy path, but I’m cheering for you as you walk it with joy!!! I pray and intercede that the day will come when more families join in!!!

Anyone interested in the <Child Sponsorship Ministry> is always welcome~ Please get in touch~~~
