(4/10/26)Pastoral Letter (4/10/26)

Rise Against Hunger (4/25, 토, 9am)

Rise Against Hunger

Dear Greenland Family,

Have you ever asked yourself these questions?

  • What does my life look like after Easter?
  • How has my life changed because I believe in the resurrection of Jesus?
  • How do people of God who hold resurrection faith actually live?

When we look at the life of Jesus, we see that after rising from the dead, He did not immediately ascend to heaven. He remained on this earth for forty days. Then, forty days after the resurrection, He ascended — and ten days after that, the Holy Spirit came. We celebrate that day as Pentecost Sunday. From that moment on, those who followed Jesus began to live under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and that era has come to be called the age of the Spirit.

Beginning this Sunday and for the next fifty days, I hope we will walk together through the life of Jesus after His resurrection — all the way to Pentecost — following His word step by step. My prayer is that this would be a season of deeper reflection for each of us personally, and for our Greenland community together, on what it meant for Jesus to live in those days between resurrection and Pentecost.

Rise Against Hunger (Saturday, April 25 | 9am)

Rise Against Hunger is an international humanitarian organization working toward the end of hunger worldwide. Volunteers gather to package nutritious meal kits that are then delivered to children and families across the globe. I hope this will be a day when our Greenland family comes together to serve alongside one another — for the sake of children suffering from hunger.

Korean Festival (Saturday, June 13 | 10am–3pm)

The day has finally come. This is the day Greenland Church steps into the long-awaited mission of serving America as Korean diaspora. It is the day we begin to repay the "gospel debt" we owe to the American churches, believers, and missionaries who planted the gospel on Korean soil 141 years ago. The reason we can live today as God's people and enjoy the joy of His kingdom is because those missionaries carried the gospel to us. Through the Korean Festival, I pray and hope that the joy of mission will flow outward from this Greenland land — as God's people, serving American society. May each of us find a way to participate and fulfill the calling of the gospel as Greenlanders.

In His grace,

Rev. Gil Lee
