Dear Greenland Family,
Did you spend this past week walking with God through His Word?
It seems many of you have been struggling with colds lately, so I pray that you’ll take care of your health and stay warm. I’ve also been struggling with poor health for the past two weeks, but thanks to your prayers and love, I’ve recovered more than 90%. My voice hasn’t fully returned yet, but it’s almost back to normal, so I think I’ll be fully recovered in just one more week. Thank you once again for the prayers, concern, and love of our Greenland family.
Reflections on the Lenten Journey
Once this week passes, Palm Sunday and Holy Week will be upon us, leaving only two weeks remaining in our <Lenten Journey>. Some of you may be thinking, “How did Lent just fly by like that?” Others may be feeling the swift passage of time, realizing that Easter Sunday is just two weeks away, and thinking, “I really need to make the most of my time.”
What kind of experience has this <Lenten Journey> been for you? I hope you’ll take a moment to pause from your busy daily life and reflect on what kind of heart and insights God has given you during this <Lent>. Although we live our lives feeling and realizing many things every day, it would be good to ask ourselves, “What is my relationship with God like?” and take a moment to think about it.
Relationships Are Living Beings
One of the thoughts I’ve been having a lot lately is that <relationships are living beings>. This is because there is no relationship that is always good, nor is there one that is always bad. Relationships are characterized by the endless repetition of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness; spring, summer, fall, and winter; and the ups and downs of life. Therefore, rather than simply labeling them as good or bad, I realize that because they are constantly evolving and dynamic, we must treat them with care, observe them closely, and nurture them.
We all live our lives forming a wide variety of relationships—relationships with each individual, with events and circumstances, and with our past, present, and future selves. I hope you’ll take some time to reflect on how you approach and manage these various relationships, and that as each one improves, our lives will become happier as well~
I hope this weekend, starting today, brings you a little more happiness. I look forward to seeing you all with a little more joy in our hearts as we gather for worship on Sunday~ See you on Sunday~
