<Blessing Visit>
In Greenland United Methodist Church NH, there are people who, when someone in our church family is sick, visit them together to bless and pray for them. They're known as the "Visitation Crews." They share in the family's pain and rejoice in their joys. Here in GUMC, there are such people of God, and I had the privilege of accompanying them. It was a time to experience being a true family of God, sharing in both sorrow and joy together.
Recently, there's a church family member who underwent major surgery and needs time to recover through focused therapy for three months. Each week, members of our church take turns visiting to spend time with her. Just knowing that someone remembers my pain and prays for me gives me strength. Visiting in person and chatting together—it's not only comforting for the person receiving the visit but also helps them forget their pain and suffering for a while, which they find comforting.
[1Co 12:26, NIV] If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
EK JSN, you really embody the meticulous work of God, who oversees every moment. Your journey with God is truly impressive. As you continue on your path, despite the long and challenging tunnel ahead, I pray that you can faithfully and courageously walk with God, even through the small bumps along the way.
교회에는 교회가족중에 누군가 아프다고 하면 교회가족들과 함께 방문하여 축복하며 기도하시는 분들이다. 소위 '심방팀'이다. 교회가족들의 아픔을 함께 아파하고 기쁨을 함께 기뻐하시는 분들이 계시다. 그린랜드에도 역시 그런 분들이 계셔서 동행했다. 첫 심방동역자들과 함께 한 시간이었는데 모두들 함께 아파하고 함께 기뻐하시는 진정한 하나님의 가족됨을 느끼는 시간이었다.
얼마전 큰 수술을 마치고 3개월간 집중치료를 받으며 회복의 시간이 필요하신 집사님이 계신데, 매 주 교회가족들이 돌아가면서 방문하며 <수다치료? 방문치료? 위문치료?>의 시간을 갖는다고 한다. 누군가 나의 아픔을 기억하고 기도해주는 것만으로도 힘을 얻기 마련인데, 직접 방문하고 같이 수다를 떨면 방문받으시는 분은 위로도 되고 힘이 될 뿐만 아니라, 함께한 시간 앞뒤로 한동안은 아픔도, 고통도 잊어버리게 되어서 좋다고 하신다.
[고전12:26] 만일 한 지체가 고통을 받으면 모든 지체가 함께 고통을 받고 한 지체가 영광을 얻으면 모든 지체가 함께 즐거워하느니라
EK집사님, 정말 힘들고 긴터널일 수 있지만 그린랜드가족들과 함께 이 여정을 함께 믿음으로 이겨나갈 수 있기를 기도합니다. 이미! 모든 순간에 세밀하게 역사하시는 하나님의 일을 목도하시고 하나님과 함께 동행하시는 모습이 인상적이었습니다. 앞으로 가야할 길에도 여러 종류의 Bumps가 있을텐데 그 작은 순간에도 하나님과 동행하시며 광야같은 그 길을 믿음으로 신실하게 씩씩하게 걸어가실 수 있기를 소망하며 기도합니다. 화이팅!
