Seacoast Chapter Monthly Gathering
of National Association of Intercultural Family Mission
When I first came to Greenland Church, one of the very first mission organizations I encountered was the National Association of International Marriage Family Mission (NAICFM). This ministry exists to support Korean women in international marriages to build Christ-centered families and to participate in God’s mission through their unique calling. The organization currently has 27 chapters across the United States, including one in Korea.
Every two to three months, I have the opportunity to join their gatherings to share the Word, worship together, enjoy fellowship over meals, and witness their deep passion and commitment. These women consistently pray and serve with a heart to fulfill the mission God has entrusted to them—caring for the marginalized and the weak.
Their stories often remind me of the biblical call to care for orphans and widows, to follow the example of the woman who broke her alabaster jar for Jesus, and to obey the Lord’s command to seek out the hungry, the naked, the sick, and the imprisoned. Each gathering is a time of spiritual renewal as they reaffirm their identity, calling, and mission.
There are truly many hidden servants of God in this world—serving without spotlight or recognition, faithfully shining His light in unseen places. I find myself praying with hope and expectation for the great things God will do through them.
국제결혼가정선교회 Seacoast 지부 월례모임
그린랜드교회에 와서 처음으로 접한 선교단체가 있다. 바로 <국제결혼가정선교 젼국연합회>이다. "국제결혼한 한인여성들이 그리스도 안에서 가정을 이루고 국제결혼을 통하여 하나님의 나라르 위한 사역에 동참하도록 섬기는 목적"을 가지고 있는 단체이다. 한국을 포함하여 총 27개의 지부가 미국 전역에서 활동하고 있다.
2-3개월에 한 번 씩 말씀증거를 위해 참석하여 함께 예배하고, 식사하며 교제를 하다보면 이 선교회원들의 열정과 헌신을 느낄 수 있다. 하나님께서 맡겨주신 사명을 온전히 감당하고자 늘 기도하고 헌신하여 소외되고 연약한 자들을 돌보는 이야기를 듣게 된다. 과부와 고아를 섬기며 사랑하하신 말씀을 기억하고, 예수님을 위하여 옥합을 깬 여인의 희생적인 삶을 따라, 굶주린 이들과 벗은 자들과, 병든 자과 갇힌 자들을 찾아보라하신 주님의 명령을 매번 모임때마다 기억하고 기도하며 자신의 정체성을 재확인하며 소명과 사명을 심비에 새긴다.
세상에는 정말 보이지 않는 곳에서 빛도 이름도 없이 섬기는 하나님의 사람들이 많이 숨겨져 있다. 이들을 통하여 이루실 하나님의 역사도 기대하며 기도하게 된다.
