Hello, Autumn Journey family!
Today marks the eighteenth day of our walk together. I know daily reflections can feel long at times, so I’m truly grateful for each of you who continue to journey with me—with your eyes, your hearts, and your prayers. Your companionship strengthens me. Thank you!
Today, I’d like to pause and share something new: the 2026 Greenlanders Vision Trip.
Recently, in a conversation with a pastor friend, I heard about a missionary serving in the Dominican Republic—caring for children from Haiti who have crossed the border, and serving through a preschool, an elementary school, and a local church. This missionary, originally from Canada, has spent years in various nations, receiving diverse training and experience, and is now serving near the Haiti–Dominican Republic border, pouring God’s love into Haitian children.
The Dominican Republic carries a kind of missional longing for me. About twenty years ago, when I was finishing a term of mission work in Southeast Asia while based in Singapore, there was a possibility that I might be sent as a Cuba missionary. Because Cuba remained—like North Korea—one of the last communist nations, the plan was to live in the Dominican Republic and serve Cuba as a non-resident missionary. The thought of serving within a communist context moved me deeply, and the conversation progressed for a time—but in the end, it did not happen. Ever since, whenever I think of Dominican–Cuba missions, a tender, lingering hope rises in my heart.
So when I recently heard about this missionary’s work in the Dominican Republic, my old longing turned into fresh expectation. With a little research, I realized that from Boston it’s quite feasible to travel there safely and affordably. Therefore, for those who can make the time and feel a nudge of interest, I’m planning a Vision Trip—to visit ministry sites, learn on the ground, and see firsthand what God is doing. My prayer is that through this trip the Greenlanders will (1) discern what kind of overseas partnerships we might pursue, and (2) broaden our missional perspective as we seek God’s vision.
Proposed Dates
February 23, 2026 (Mon) — 2 nights/3 days or 3 nights/4 days (final schedule TBD). More details will be announced in Sunday’s bulletin. If you’re interested, please contact me directly.
May the 2026 Greenlanders Vision Trip become a joyful, faith-filled next step toward God’s dream—that all people be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
