[마태복음 22:37-40]
37 예수께서 이르시되 네 마음을 다하고 목숨을 다하고 뜻을 다하여 주 너의 하나님을 사랑하라 하셨으니
38 이것이 크고 첫째 되는 계명이요
39 둘째도 그와 같으니 네 이웃을 네 자신 같이 사랑하라 하셨으니
40 이 두 계명이 온 율법과 선지자의 강령이니라
오늘은 도미니카공화국에 함께 가시는 분들의 이름을 한번씩 불러보시고 기도하는 시간을 가지면 좋겠습니다.
우리가 선교를 하는 것도 중요하지만, 함께 동역하는 동역자들과의 관계도 동일하게 중요합니다. 하나님의 사람의 삶은 수직적으로는 하나님과의 관계, 수평적으로는 옆에 있는 사람과의 관계가 균형을 이룰 때에 균형잡힌 건강한 삶을 살아갈 수 있기 때문입니다. 십자가가 세로가 가로보다 조금 더 긴 것처럼 하나님과의 관계가 깊은 뿌리를 내리고 있을 때에 흔들리지 않는 수평적인 관계도 유지할 수 있습니다.
이번 3박 4일간의 기간동안 우리가 듣고 배워야 할 하나님의 일과 선교가 있지만, 함께 걷는 동반자들 한 사람 한 사람에 대한 관심을 갖고 서로를 돌보며 하나님의 가족다운 사랑과 기쁨이 있는 시간들로 채워지기를 소망하며 기도합니다~

37 Jesus replied: "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.
39 And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."
Today, I'd like to invite you to do something simple but meaningful — take a moment to call out the names of each person on our team, one by one, and lift them up in prayer.
Mission work matters deeply. But so do the people standing beside us. A life rooted in God is shaped by two relationships held in balance: the vertical — our relationship with God — and the horizontal — our relationship with one another. Like the cross itself, where the vertical beam runs a little deeper than the horizontal, when our connection with God is firmly rooted, our relationships with each other become steady and unshakeable as well.
Over these four days together, there will be much to see, hear, and learn about God's work and the heart of mission in the Dominican Republic. But I hope we don't miss what's happening right beside us — the person sitting next to you on the plane, sharing a meal across the table, or walking the same unfamiliar streets. Each one of them is a gift.
May these days be filled not only with purpose, but with the kind of love and joy that only God's family can share — as we watch over one another, care for one another, and walk together as one.
