🍁 Walking Together in Autumn #05 – “A Holy Reminder and a Holy Catalyst”
Hello, dear Autumn Walk family 🌿
Happy Friday morning! As we come to the end of another week, how have you been? Have you been too busy to pause and think about God? Or did this Autumn Walk Letter help you to spend a little more time thinking about Him this week?
As I continue my walk as a servant of God, there are two prayers that I often lift up. One is to become a Holy Reminder, and the other is to become a Holy Catalyst in someone’s life.
💫 A Holy Reminder
To live as a Holy Reminder means to live in such a way that those who meet you are reminded of God. I believe that no one truly forgets how important God is, how precious His Word is, or how blessed it is to live by that Word. It’s just that life gets so busy, and so many things feel urgent, that people simply forget for a while. Sometimes, people have lived so long putting other things before God that they have grown used to it.
That’s why I want to live as a Holy Reminder—someone who helps others remember God again, so that they might draw nearer to Him and walk with Him once more. And I pray that each of us in the Autumn Walk family would become that kind of reminder to those around us— especially to those who have grown weary or distracted by life’s busyness.
and said to them, "Go over before the ark of the LORD your God into the middle of the Jordan. Each of you is to take up a stone on his shoulder, according to the number of the tribes of the Israelites, to serve as a sign among you. In the future, when your children ask you, 'What do these stones mean?' tell them that the flow of the Jordan was cut off before the ark of the covenant of the LORD. When it crossed the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off. These stones are to be a memorial to the people of Israel forever." (Joshua 4:5-7, NIV)
🔥 A Holy Catalyst
To live as a Holy Catalyst means to be someone whose words, prayers, or encouragement spark faith and hope in others— especially in those who are tired, discouraged, or have fallen along the way. We all have moments when our faith feels small, our hearts weak, and our spirits unable to rise toward God on our own.
In such moments, one simple word of kindness, one sincere prayer, one gentle act of encouragement can ignite a flicker of faith again. To be that person—to offer that one spark that helps another turn their heart back to God—that is the life of a Holy Catalyst.
My hope and prayer is that each of us in this Autumn Walk family will look around and become that catalyst for someone nearby—someone who is weary, discouraged, or quietly struggling. May we be the ones who help them find strength to take another step toward God.
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching. (Hebrews 10:24-25, NIV)
Dear Autumn Walk family,
as we close this week, I pray that each of us may live as both a Holy Reminder and a Holy Catalyst. May we be people who help others remember God, and may we gently rekindle the flame of faith in someone’s heart. As we do, we will find ourselves drawing nearer to God—reflecting His heart, walking in His likeness, step by step. Hallelujah!
With you on this journey,
Rev. Gil Lee
