Tuning a piano to match the correct pitch, or aligning a string instrument with absolute pitch, is a critical task. In an orchestra, before the performance begins, when the first violinist plays the note "A," all other instruments tune themselves accordingly. Likewise, our souls regularly need to be tuned to the original pitch set by God's Word at the moment of creation. This is because we have a sinful nature (missing the mark) that constantly inclines us away from God's Word.
Jesus, Joshua, and David all tuned their souls early in the morning by spending time alone with God in prayer. Once the daily routine begins—meeting people, starting work—other influences inevitably enter our minds. Thus, it's essential to reset our minds beforehand, aligning our hearts with the One who created us. By doing so, our priorities remain steadfast, we can see things through God’s eyes, and feel with God’s heart. Wherever we go and whatever we do, we can truly become God's hands and feet, leading lives pleasing to Him.
Through our 2025 Lenten journey together, I pray and hope that holy habits will form within us, and that holy routines will emerge, reorganizing our lives around God as our central standard.

피아노가 원음에 음을 맞추는 일 혹은 현악기가 절대음에 맞추는 일이다. 오케스트라가 시작되시전에는 First Violinist가 "A" 음을 내면 모든 악기들은 그 음에 맞춘다. 이와같이 우리 인간의 영혼도 하나님께서 창조하실 때의 원음인 하나님의 말씀에 정기적으로 조율해야 한다. 왜냐하면 우리에게는 죄성(mission the mark)이 있어서 하나님의 말씀으로부터 멀어지고자 하는 성향이 있기 때문이다.
예수님도, 여호수아도, 다윗도 새벽 미명에 자신들의 영혼을 하나님과 독대하는 기도시간을 통하여 조율했다. 일상이 시작되어 사람을 만나거나 일하기 시작하면 다른 것들이 들어오기 시작한다. 그 전에 내 머리속을 우리를 창조하신 하나님의 마음으로 리셋해두는 것이 중요하다. 그럴 때에 우리는 삶의 우선순위가 바뀌지 않을 수 있고, 다가오는 일들을 하나님의 눈으로 볼 수 있고, 하나님의 마음으로 느낄 수 있고, 그러면 어디서 무엇을 하든지 하나님의 손과 발이 되어 하나님을 기쁘시게 하는 삶을 살 수 있기 때문이다.
이번 2025 사순절동행을 통해 우리의 삶에 거룩한 습관이 만들어지기를 소망하고, 거룩한 루틴이 우리의 삶에 하나님을 기준으로 삶이 모두 정리정돈이 되는 기간이 되기를 소망하며 기도한다.
