[1 Corinthians 13:12, NIV] For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
Growth is a journey from the place we have been to a new stage of existence. But what exactly is spiritual growth? It is the ever-deepening, enriching, and broadening knowledge of God. Genuine spiritual growth is intrinsically connected to our knowledge of God. As we come to know God more intimately, our souls expand into deeper and wider dimensions. Our spiritual eyes open, enabling us to see further, understand more broadly, and perceive more deeply.
Growth without knowledge of God is superficial and fleeting. Yet, the more intimately we know God, the richer and more generous our being becomes. We develop a greater capacity to understand and embrace more people with genuine compassion. As our inner selves deepen, we become capable of loving more profoundly, exercising greater patience, and caring more thoughtfully. Ultimately, spiritual growth not only draws us closer to God but also transforms us into people who can guide others toward Him.
In this profound journey of knowing God, we begin to reflect His character, allowing His radiant personality to permeate our own. Thus, our being expands limitlessly, becoming abundant and generous, ultimately living a life that mirrors the generous heart of God Himself. Let us, therefore, passionately seek God and commit ourselves wholeheartedly to the enriching journey of knowing Him deeper. This, indeed, is the mystery and blessing of true spiritual growth.

성장이란 우리가 머물던 단계에서 새로운 단계로 발을 내딛는 여정이다. 영적 성장이란 무엇인가? 그것은 하나님에 대한 우리의 앎이 점점 풍요로워지고 깊어지고 넓어지는 것을 의미한다. 진정한 성장은 하나님을 아는 지식과 밀접하게 연결되어 있다. 우리가 하나님을 깊이 알아갈수록 우리의 영혼은 더 넓고 깊은 차원으로 성장하며, 영적인 눈이 열려 더 멀리 보고, 더 넓게 이해하며, 더 깊게 통찰할 수 있게 된다.
하나님을 아는 지식이 없는 성장은 피상적이며 일시적이다. 그러나 하나님을 알아갈수록 우리의 존재는 더욱 풍성해지고 넉넉해진다. 우리는 이전보다 더 많은 사람들을 가슴으로 이해하고, 품을 수 있는 사람이 된다. 우리의 내면이 깊어질수록 더 큰 사랑으로, 더 오래 참고, 더 세심하게 돌볼 수 있는 능력을 얻게 된다. 결국, 영적 성장이란 우리를 하나님께 더 가까이 나아가게 할 뿐 아니라, 다른 이들을 하나님께로 안내하는 존재로 만드는 것이다.
이렇게 하나님을 깊이 알아가는 과정에서 우리는 하나님의 성품을 닮아가며, 그분의 빛나는 인격이 우리의 인격 속에 깊이 스며든다. 그리하여 우리의 존재는 한없이 확장되고 넉넉해져서 마침내 하나님을 닮아 넉넉한 삶을 살아가게 된다. 그러므로 우리는 더욱더 하나님을 갈망하며, 더욱더 하나님을 깊이 알아가는 여정에 우리 자신을 내어드리자. 이것이 바로 진정한 영적 성장의 신비이자 축복이다.
