"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." [Ecclesiastes 4:9-12]
These verses speak of how precious and joyful it is to have someone with whom we can walk, talk, and share our hearts.
We live in a world where it seems we can be okay alone as long as we have the internet. But human beings are creatures who cannot truly live without others. This is why sociology calls us "social animals," and why the Chinese character for person (人) depicts two people leaning on each other.
Personally, I love being with others. When we share about our own lives and listen to others' stories, we come to realize, "Oh, I'm not the only one... I'm not alone..." Just knowing this fact can bring tremendous comfort—not only to ourselves but also to people we may not even be aware of.
I pray that this journey will be meaningful as we share various stories with our fellow travelers and come to know each other more deeply.
Everyone, see you tomorrow (2/15) at Greenland Church~
