Today, I thought our Dominican Mission Team is like the spies who explored Canaan. It's like the team of 12 spies who went ahead to explore the land that God had promised. That land was already the land God had promised, and it was already a place where God was doing His work. I think we just need to observe carefully what God is doing and what heart He is giving us.
However, among the 12 spies, only two people - Joshua and Caleb - believed and declared that the land was given to us. They spoke before the whole assembly like this:
"If the Lord is pleased with us, he will lead us into that land, a land flowing with milk and honey, and will give it to us." [Numbers 14:8]
I hope that as we visit the Dominican Republic this time, we can also carefully observe the heart that God is giving us. I pray that we will have the grace to discover what we can do with what we have, and to discover where, for what purpose, and for whom God wants to use us!
