(D-3 again / February 23, 2026 / 월요일)
또 다시 D-3이 되었네요.
어제 우리 모임중에 올리비아가 취소되었다고 한 비행기가 우리 비행기였더라구요. (올리비아, 확인도 안하고 월요일비행기라고 해서 미안해요..) 그래서 모임후에 집에와서 김수진권사님과 함께 American Airline (AA)과 장시간 통화하면서 결국 2월 26일 목요일 오전 7시에 출발하게 되었어요. 돌아오는 일정은 오전 9시가 되면 다시 AA에 연락해서 확정하려고 합니다. 2/28(토) 이나 3/1(주) 이 될 것인데, 확정되면 업데이트 해드리겠습니다!
날씨때문에 반복적으로 일정이 변경이 되어 마음이 불편하실 분들도 계실텐데 모두들 긍정적으로 생각해주시고 여유있는 마음으로 여러 변동사항을 이해해주셔서 감사드립니다. 이번 과정을 통해, 특별히 어제 제가 올린 질문에 "Yes" "Yes" "Yes" 답이 올라오는 것을 보면서 우리 그린랜드가족들, 특별히 이번 선교일정에 동참하시는 분들의 마음이 이해의 폭이 넓고 여유가 있으신 분들이심을 배우게 되었습니다. 사실, 짜증을 내거나 조바심을 낸다고 더 나아지는 것은 없을 뿐 아니라 스스로의 마음만 불편해지면 스스로를 괴롭게 하는 일이니까요. 넓은 마음으로 이해해주시고 믿어주시고 기다려주심에 다시 한 번 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.
이제 오늘 오전중에 확정이 되야하는 과정이지만, 제가 선교사님께 목요일에 가서 토요일이나 주일에 돌아오는 일정으로 변경될 것 같다는 말씀을 드렸더니, 선교사님은 오히려 더 좋아하셨습니다. 토요일에 미니 여름성경학교처럼 함께 찬양하고 말씀전하고 2개정도 아이들과 Crafts를 하면 좋겠다고 하시고, 만일 주일에도 있을 수 있다면 현지교회에서 말씀도 전해달라고 하시고, 저희도 현지교회에서 예배를 함께 드리면 현지분들도 너무 너무 좋아하실거라고 하시더라구요.
개인적인 고백이지만 하나님은 언제나 가장 좋은 것을 주시는 분이라고 믿어요. 우리가 느끼기에는 이상하기도 하고 불편할 수도 있지만, 결국 그 길이 하나님께서 나에게 / 우리에게 가장 좋은 것이었다는 것을 깨닫게 되기 때문입니다.
이제 이번 선교를 준비할 수 있는 3일이 더 생겼네요~ 오늘 오전중에 돌아오는 일정이 확정되고 일정이 확정되면 오늘은 눈때문에 못움직일 수 있으니 내일부터 <어린이사역> 같이 준비하시죠~ ㅎㅎㅎ 비전트립으로 생각했던 일정이 이제 찐선교여행이 될 것 같습니다. 아이들을 위해 우리가 할 수 있는 일들도 많아져서 보다 뜻깊은 여행이 될 것 같습니다~ 기대하셔도 좋을 것 같습니다~ 개봉박두!!!

D-3 Again / February 23, 2026 / Monday
Here we are at D-3 again! During our meeting yesterday, when Olivia mentioned that a flight had been canceled — it turned out that was our flight. (Olivia, I'm sorry for not double-checking and assuming it was the Monday flight on my end..) So after the meeting, I came home and spent a long time on the phone with American Airlines (AA) together with Soojin Stickney and we were finally able to secure a new departure on Thursday, February 26th at 7:00 AM. As for the return flight, we plan to contact AA again after 9:00 AM to confirm. It will likely be Saturday, February 28th or Sunday, March 1st — we'll update you as soon as it's confirmed!
With the schedule changing repeatedly due to weather, I know some of you may be feeling a little unsettled. But thank you all so much for staying positive and embracing each change with such a gracious and flexible spirit. Through this whole process — and especially seeing all the "Yes, Yes, Yes" responses to the question I posted yesterday — I've been reminded of just how big-hearted and understanding our Greenland family truly is, especially those joining this mission trip. The truth is, getting frustrated or anxious doesn't make things better. It only makes our own hearts heavy. So thank you again for your understanding, your trust, and your patience. It means more than words can say.
Now, while we're still waiting for final confirmation this morning, I reached out to our missionary to let her know we'd likely be arriving Thursday and returning Saturday or Sunday — and honestly, she was thrilled. She suggested we could do a mini-VBS on Saturday: worship together, share a short message, and do a couple of crafts with the kids. And if we're able to stay through Sunday, they invited me to preach at the local church and join their worship service — they said the local congregation would absolutely love having us there.
This is my personal confession of faith: I believe God always gives us the very best. It may feel strange or inconvenient in the moment, but in the end, we always come to realize that the path God led us through was exactly the best one — for me, for us. We've now been given 3 more days to prepare and pray for this mission. Once the return schedule is confirmed this morning, and since the snow may keep us from moving around today, let's start preparing together for Children's Ministry starting tomorrow~ 😄
What began as a vision trip is now shaping up to be a real mission trip. There's so much more we'll be able to do for the children, and I believe this journey will be more meaningful than we ever imagined.
