(D-2 again / February 24, 2026 /
Yes! Yes!"
D-2 Again (for the third time!) / February 24, 2026 / Tuesday
Here we are at D-2 — for the third time~ 😄
I've been around many short-term mission teams over the years, but I have to say — having a trip rescheduled twice is a first for me. Even for someone like me who genuinely enjoys new experiences, two back-to-back changes were, I'll admit, a little disorienting. And yet, deep in my heart, one thing never wavered: "Whenever there's a day we can go — we go." That conviction kept me pushing forward until we got here.
There was honestly a moment when the thought crossed my mind: "Should we just cancel?" But then I saw your responses — "Yes! Yes! Yes!" — and something rose up in me. Courage. Energy. Strength. In that moment, the words of Scripture came to mind almost on their own:
"Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
— Ecclesiastes 4:12
And here's something beautiful: when I told our missionary about the schedule change, they were actually more excited. Yes, the itinerary looks different from what we originally planned — but now we'll get to do a Mini-VBS with the children, and we'll have the opportunity to worship alongside the Haitian congregation at the local church. Our to-do list has grown a little, but knowing the passion and heart of this team, I have no doubt we'll carry it all with joy.
Most of all, I want to say thank you — for staying united through every change, with one heart and one mind. God has already knit us together. And I believe that when we go as one, whatever we face, we will face it with joy. Because in the end, what matters most to God is not what we do — but how we do it, and from what heart.
"Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
— 1 Samuel 16:7
One more day. Please continue to pray — for today and tomorrow as we prepare the crafts for the children, and that we will depart as planned this Thursday. We're almost there! 🙏
