๐Ÿ Walking Together in Autumn #02 โ€“ โ€œWords and Writingโ€

Dear Walking Together in Autumn Family,

Iโ€™m truly grateful that in this beautiful fall of 2025, we can walk togetherโ€”with God, in His Word, and as one Walking Together family. Itโ€™s such a blessing and joy to have people in our lives with whom we can share our hearts, our inner stories, and even the silent corners of our souls. Everyone has unspoken thoughts and emotionsโ€”things that canโ€™t always be said out loud, yet somehow find their way onto paper. Having friends and family with whom we can share these written emotions is truly one of lifeโ€™s greatest gifts.

As the African proverb says, โ€œIf you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.โ€ My prayer is that our spiritual journey this fall will be one of walking slowly, with grace and reflectionโ€”together.

โ€œTwo are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: if either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.โ€ โ€” Ecclesiastes 4:9โ€“12

Words and Writing

Writing, unlike speaking, often expresses a deeper world within our hearts. There are emotions we want to speakโ€”and others that can only be written. Sometimes, things we would never dare to say aloud find their way into written words.

This 2025 Walking Together in Autumn season, I encourage you to take a moment to write down the thoughts or feelings you havenโ€™t been able to sayโ€”perhaps even to Godโ€”and discover the unseen emotions and quiet corners of your heart.

โ€œHear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.โ€ โ€” Deuteronomy 6:4โ€“9

Spiritual Rhythm

We all live such busy, fast-paced lives. Yet I hope that, no matter how full our days become, we will still make room for quiet momentsโ€”enough to read something like this Walking Together Letter.

In a digital age where most communication happens through video and sound, letโ€™s take time to pauseโ€”to read slowly, think deeply, and reflect prayerfully. Letโ€™s create a spiritual rhythm in which our inner life is examined in the light of Godโ€™s Word.

For after all, God Himself has been communicating with us through written words for thousands of years.

โ€œAll Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.โ€ โ€” 2 Timothy 3:16โ€“17

The Dream of Walking Together

As we begin another busy day, take a moment to writeโ€”to jot down your thoughts or a small conversation with God. I would love for you to share your reflections, prayers, or written meditations with me, so that your warmth and faith may touch more of our Walking Together Family.

May our written stories pile up gently, layer upon layer, until they become a beautiful mosaic of shared memories and spiritual growth.

Please share your Walking Together in Autumn stories! ๐Ÿ‚
