Lenten Walking Together. Day 43. Deep Spirituality

Deep Spirituality – Not Something to Complete, But Something to Be Molded

[Isaiah 64:8, NIV] Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.

Deep spirituality is not something we accomplish; it is something that is formed within us over time. In a capitalist society, we often measure success, accomplishment, or impact by numbers and scale. As a result, we tend to undervalue faithfulness, even though it is something God cherishes deeply.

We must remember that in the parable of the talents, God gave the same praise to the servant who earned five talents and to the one who earned two. But He rebuked the servant who hid the one talent, not because of the amount, but because he failed to be faithful with what was entrusted to him. This reminds us that what matters to God is not how much we achieve, but how faithfully we live out what He has given us.

The same is true for deep spirituality. Can we ever “complete” a deep relationship? No. It is something God forms in us throughout our lives. Just as human relationships never truly reach a final stage of completion, so too our relationship with God is not something to be finished, but to be deepened.

And that deepening must happen in the hands of the Potter. It is not accomplished by our effort alone, but by immersing ourselves in the presence of God, allowing Him to mold us over a lifetime. My hope is that we may walk this journey together with our spiritual companions, sharing life and growing in God’s hands.

Today’s Prayer

Lord, I long for my relationship with You to grow deeper each day.
As the Potter, would You mold my life—like clay in Your hands—so that I may come to understand Your heart more deeply?
Grant me a spirituality that reflects Your presence and Your love.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

<오늘의 기도>
