🍁 Autumn Journey #20 - "Warm Friendship"
To be honest... I wasn’t planning to send today’s Autumn Journey Letter. I thought it might sound too similar to the Friday Dawn Letter that I send every Friday with the church bulletin. But then, a few people reached out asking why today’s Autumn Journey hadn’t arrived — and that made me realize:
“The Morning Letter is the Morning Letter, and the Autumn Journey is the Autumn Journey.” As I reflected on that, God gave me a word to share with you. The verse that came to mind was Proverbs 27:17:
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” (Proverbs 27:17)
Just as iron sharpens iron to make a blade sharper, a friend can brighten another’s face. It reminds us that remembering one another, checking in, and showing care makes our relationships shine with warmth and light.
I hope that within our Greenland family, when someone suddenly comes to mind, we’ll take a moment to reach out— not only when something special happens, but simply to ask, “How have you been? How’s your heart? Are you doing okay?” And I pray that our community will continue to grow as a place where such caring messages are always welcome.
To those who reached out wondering about today’s letter — thank you. Your message warmed my heart more than you know. As the weather turns a bit colder, I pray that you’ll stay warm in body and heart, and that you’ll finish this last day of October with peace and gratitude.
With warm blessings on this final day of October, Gil Lee
