π Autumn Journey #22 "Three Strands"
Yesterday, on Monday, we had our long-awaited Coram Deo time. It was a precious opportunity to look at the events of our daily lives through Godβs eyes and to feel them with Godβs heart. As we shared our stories in the light of Godβs Word, we took a deep and honest look into our inner selves. It was a time of genuine sharing β where hearts were open and truthful before God and one another. Iβm deeply thankful for these Coram Deo moments that keep us grounded and growing in faith.
βDo not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in itβnot forgetting what they have heard, but doing itβthey will be blessed in what they do.β β James 1:22β25
When someone truly loves another, they cherish every word spoken by that person. If we love and respect someone deeply, we tend to take their words to heart, even if they sound unreasonable. Thatβs the nature of love and trust β to believe and live by the words of the one we love. In the same way, those who love God treasure His words and live in a way that reflects His heart.
βWhoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me. The one who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love them and show myself to them.β β John 14:21
βJesus replied, βAnyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.ββ β John 14:23β24
As we continue walking together in this 2025 Autumn Journey, I have a deep prayer and hope β that in every home and every place where Greenlanders live, we will continue to hear stories of walking with God and His Word. Some have shared those stories with me, and others Iβve quietly discovered in their faithful lives and loving hearts. Whether through writing, serving, caring, or simply walking humbly with the Lord, I see Godβs companionship among us.
Even though the weather is getting colder, my heart feels warm thinking of the Greenland family who live to please God. Because of that, I think this autumn and winter will feel a little less cold.
βTwo are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.β β Ecclesiastes 4:9β12
