🍁 가을동행 #38 거룩한 리마인더
지난 이틀은 정말 신기할 정도로 이메일 발송한 것을 완전히 착각했습니다. 분명히 보냈다고 생각했는데 그렇지 않았다는 사실을 발견하고 깜짝 놀랐던 순간들을 두 번이나 이틀 연속 경험했습니다. 하지만 역쉬 이메일을 못받았다고 말씀해주시는 분들, 제 표현으로는 "거룩한 리마인더"가 계셔서 놓치지 않고 다시 보낼 수 있었습니다. 다시 한 번 저의 실수를 잘 기억나게 해주신 분들께 감사의 말씀을 드립니다.
그러면서, 우리의 삶에 거룩한 리마인더가 되어주는 것이 얼마나 중요한지 깨닫는 날들이었습니다. 우리는 본성이 하나님을 벗어나려는 성향(죄성)들이 있기에 누구나 예외없이 거룩한 리마인더가 필요합니다. 이사야 선지자 말씀대로 우리는 모두 양 같아서 그릇 행하는 성향들이 있어서 제 길로 가기 원하기 때문입니다.
“우리는 다 양 같아서 그릇 행하여 각기 제 길로 갔거늘 여호와께서는 우리 모두의 죄악을 그에게 담당시키셨도다” (이사야 53:6)
<가을동행>을 3일 앞두고 소망하며 기도하기는 <가을동행편지>가 누군가에게 거룩한 리마인더가 되었기 소망하며 기도합니다. 깊이 있는 글은 아니었어도 그저 하나님을 한 번 더 기억하고, 하나님의 마음을 한 번 더 헤아리도록 하는 작은 거룩한 리마인더들이 되었기를 소망해봅니다. 또한 이 <가을동행>을 통해 영적인 삶을 기억하신 분들이 또 다른 누군가에게 거룩한 리마인더가 되는 계기가 되었길 소망해봅니다.
우리 모두는 <거룩한 리마인더>가 필요합니다. 우리안에 있는 죄성때문이기도 하지만, 너무나 바쁜 사회에 살아가고 있기 때문입니다. 더 나아가 하나님보다 더 중요한 일들이 점점 많아지는 세상에서 살아가고 있기에 모든 사람에게는 거룩한 리마인더가 필요합니다. 오늘도 그리고 내일도 하루 하루 누군가에게 거룩한 리마인더가 되어 한 사람이라도 더 하나님을 기억하게 하는 삶이 되기를 소망하며 기도합니다.

🍁 Autumn Journey #38 Holy Reminders
Over the past two days, I experienced something quite surprising. I was absolutely convinced that I had already sent out the Autumn Journey emails—only to discover, twice in a row, that I actually hadn’t. It was startling both times. But thankfully, there were those who gently let me know they hadn’t received the email—the people I like to call “holy reminders.” Because of them, I was able to correct my mistake and resend the letters. I’m deeply grateful for these gracious reminders.
These moments helped me realize how essential “holy reminders” are in our lives. Our human nature naturally drifts away from God. Scripture tells us that, like sheep, we wander; we desire our own path, not God’s. So every one of us, without exception, needs holy reminders.
“We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all.” (Isaiah 53:6)
As we stand only three days away from completing Autumn Journey, my prayer is simple: that these daily letters have served as a holy reminder for someone— not because the writing was profound, but because they helped you remember God one more time, sense His heart one more time, turn your attention toward Him one more time.
I also pray that those who experienced spiritual renewal through Autumn Journey may, in turn, become holy reminders for others—inviting someone else to remember God again.
Each of us needs holy reminders. Not only because of the sinful tendencies within us, but because we live in a world that is constantly busy and increasingly filled with things that seem more urgent than God. In such a world, reminders of God’s presence, grace, and truth are not optional—they’re essential.
May you become a holy reminder to someone today, and may God use your life to help even one more person remember Him— today, tomorrow, and each day He gives.
