[Contentment] is not simply living with a positive attitude regardless of circumstances. It is not about being satisfied with visible things like money, fame, or power. True contentment is being satisfied with Jesus alone—because the human heart longs for what is eternal (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
[Ecclesiastes 3:11, NIV] He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Being in need or in plenty, being well-fed or hungry, having abundance or facing hardship—none of these are what truly determine our satisfaction. It is Christ who fills all things. Therefore, we can confess with confidence that Jesus is enough.
A "life of contentment" is not a life that says, “this is fine” or “that is fine,” but rather, a life that says, “because of Jesus, I am content.”
[Today's Prayer]
Heavenly Father, lead me today by Your Spirit to live a life fully satisfied in Jesus alone.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
<오늘의 기도>
