14 He appointed twelve that they might be with him and that he might send them out to preach
15 and to have authority to drive out demons.
“Intimacy” in a relationship can be described as the degree of closeness or the depth of connection. How close you are to someone reflects the depth of that relationship. In the same way, our intimacy with God determines the depth of our relationship with Him. Just as the level of intimacy between friends reveals how deep their relationship is, the same principle applies to our relationship with God.
Intimacy is built through time spent together. Even Jesus, before sending out His disciples for ministry, first spent time with them (Mark 3:14). Sharing life together—eating, sleeping, walking side by side—was a time to truly get to know one another. This time allowed their relationship to deepen and their closeness to grow.
The more intimate the relationship, the more mature the fruit that comes from it. The flavor becomes richer. We taste the depth of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. In both our relationship with God and with others, when we experience this kind of depth, we come to know the true joy and meaning of living out our faith.

2. 15 귀신을 내쫓는 권능도 가지게 하려 하심이러라
[친밀도] 란 관계에 있어서 '가까움의 정도' 혹은 '깊이의 정도' 라고 표현할 수 있다. 그 사람과 얼마나 가까운가가 그 관계의 깊이를 보여주기 때문이다. 하나님과의 친밀도는 하나님과의 관계의 깊이를 결정한다. 친구와의 친밀도가 관계의 깊이를 보여주는 것과 같은 원리이다.
친밀함은 얼마나 함께 하느냐에 달려있다. 예수님도 제자들을 사역하러 내보내기 전에 "함께"하셨다 (막3:14). 함께 지낸다는 것은 그 사람을 알아가는 시간이었고, 함께 먹고 자고 생활하며 그 사람을 세밀하게 알아가 관계가 더욱 깊어지고 친밀해지는 시간이다.
친밀할 수록 관계에서 맺어지는 열매의 숙성도가 높다. 그 맛이 진해진다. 사랑의 맛, 희락의 맛, 화평의 맛, 오래참음의 맛, 자비의 맛, 양선의 맛, 충성의 맛, 온유의 맛, 절제의 맛이 깊게 느껴진다. 우리는 하나님과의 관계에서도 사람과의 관계에서도 이런 깊은 맛을 누릴 때에 신앙생활의 의미와 기쁨을 누리게 된다.
