Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written. (Jn 21:25, NIV)

🍁 Autumn Journey #15 God, The Writer
“Thinking Faith, Writing Spirituality”
Hello, dear Autumn Companionship family! Wow, can you believe it’s already been three weeks since we began this journey together? Time truly flies, doesn’t it?
Recently, I came across a book that left a deep impression on me. Its title was “Thinking Class.” The book reminded me that while what we do and the kind of knowledge or information we gain are important, what truly shapes our lives is how we think—the process of reflection and reasoning that follows. In other words, the “thinking process” is more important than the raw materials of information themselves.
In the same way, the Word of God is full of truth and power, yet what really transforms us is how we meditate on it, how we respond, and how we integrate it into our daily lives. Depending on our response, the Word takes on different expressions in our lives. Some people process the Word intellectually, others reflect on it for insight, and still others respond emotionally or through inspiration. Some express their new understanding through words, others through writing, and still others through action.
When we think about it, God Himself has revealed His heart through writing. If those who encountered and experienced God had not recorded their stories, we would not have known Him today. As we shared earlier in our Autumn Companionship reflections, writing has a mysterious power—it draws out the deepest parts of our soul. Words on a page can often express what spoken words cannot; they help bring our inner, spiritual self to the surface.
As we continue our Autumn Companionship journey, I hope that we can take time to bring out our inner selves through writing—entrusting our hearts to the Potter’s hands—so that God may shape us more beautifully and more holy with each passing day.
May your reflections become prayers, and may your words become vessels of grace. 🍂
