๐ Autumn Walk #14
Hello, Walking Together Family! ๐
Are you still drawing a little closer to God each and every day?
โCome near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.โ (James 4:8)
Did you know that in Korean, new words are constantly being createdโoften by blending syllables or initials just like English acronyms? One of my favorite new expressions beautifully describes the life of a Christian who lives in daily meditation: โJoomyeodeulda (์ฃผ๋ฉฐ๋ค๋ค)โ, which literally means โto be soaked into the Lord.โ To โlive a life of joomyeodeuldaโ means to be slowly and gently permeated by Godโs Word every day. Itโs much like the Korean saying, โEven a light drizzle will eventually soak your clothes.โ
โRemain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.โ (John 15:4)
I believe that true Christian transformation happens slowly, quietly, and unseen. A personโs character and heart rarely change overnight. Sometimes we hear people say they were โcompletely changed,โ but deep down we wonderโwill that sudden change last? Real transformation takes time because our character and temperament are formed through years of experiences and relationships.
โBeing confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.โ (Philippians 1:6)
Itโs the same with this Autumn Walk. Some of you may still feel awkward or unfamiliar with walking together with God through His Word. Thatโs okay. If it feels new this year, it may feel more natural and comfortable in 2026. Nothing forced ever lasts long, and deep change never comes from pressure. If youโve simply taken a moment today to read this reflection, you are already being soaked in the Lord. My prayer is that each day, little by littleโโshinabroโ (Korean for โslowly but surelyโ)โyou may live a day that is gently soaked in His presence.
โBut thanks be to God, who always leads us as captives in Christโs triumphal procession and uses us to spread the aroma of the knowledge of him everywhere. For we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing.โ (2 Corinthians 2:14โ15)
May your life today carry the fragrance of Christ, and may your heart be gently soaked in His love and Word. ๐ฟ
