Autumn Journey - Day 34.

🍁 Autumn Journey #34 “Holy Contagious Ones”

Yesterday (Wed 11/19), I arrived in Toronto and had the privilege of meeting with the speakers who came to serve at KOSTA. They gathered with one longing: that young adults in the Toronto region would hear God’s Word, be encouraged, and live as people who delight the heart of God. Because they came with the dream of seeing the next generation rise for God’s Kingdom, their hearts were filled with love for young people and a deep hunger for worship—Scripture, prayer, and praise.Just by talking with them, I could sense their passion for souls, their love for the gospel, and their wholehearted dedication.

Moments like this remind me again how crucial it is to be with people who carry the right heart. Conversations with people who long for God’s grace stir the same longing in me.Talking with someone filled with love warms my heart with love. Spending time with someone who cherishes Scripture makes my own heart desire the Word more deeply.

Then I began to ask myself:What kind of person am I?What kind of current flows out of my life? What is filling my heart? And what do others sense when they spend time with me?

This also led me to wonder:What do people feel when they meet a Greenlander? What flows out of us collectively as a community?

When the Jewish leaders accused Paul before Governor Felix, they said,“This man is a plague” (Acts 24:5). They used the word for something harmful—like a destructive disease—because they believed Paul was dangerous to society. But in reality, Paul carried an extraordinary, holy influence.Perhaps that is why he wrote to the Corinthians:

“The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.”(1 Corinthians 1:18)

Every person builds something in their heart daily—through what we see, hear, and feel. And whatever fills the heart eventually comes out through our words, expressions, attitudes, and relationships. If good things fill the heart, good will flow out.If corrupt things fill it, corruption will show. Those who spend time with us will inevitably encounter whatever is stored within us.

My hope is that every Greenlander will fill their heart each day with the sacred things of God’s Kingdom—so that anyone who meets us will be “infected” by the holiness stored within us.

Walking together through the autumn of 2025,

Rev. Gil Lee
